The contact surface of the Harken Radial drum, is stamped for each winch size and drum material and features diagonal ribbing, instead of texturing with abrasive materials. This provides maximum holding power and reduces line wear.. When loosening or softening, rib angle helps keep line down, preventing them from riding on the drum and helping make the movement smoother. Aluminum or chrome-plated drum, skirt and self-catching pressure discs in high-resistance composite to save weight. High resistance composite roller bearings, reduce friction under workloads and do not require lubrication. Gears and pins are 17-4PH stainless steel for strength and durability.

Integrated Separator Arm – The robust separator arm is a very strong single piece, It completely covers the head of the winch, forming a stable platform, preventing fingers or clothing from being trapped or hooked by moving parts.. The arm can be adjusted in multiple positions after the winch has been mounted and its shape allows for smooth feeding both in and out of the line., inside the self-catching pressure discs.
High Resistance Lightweight Materials – Ball bearings and composite bearings, reduce friction under load, They have excellent corrosion resistance and do not require lubrication.. Snap-mount design keeps bearings captive in a heavy-duty Delrin® chamber when drum is removed for maintenance. Gears and pins are 17-4PH stainless steel for strength and durability. Easy Maintenance – The winches can be dismantled and maintenance carried out on deck. The socket, the washer and the top screw are all press-fitted in one, simplifying maintenance and error-free assembly.
Power-Grip Jaws – Self-catching pressure discs in long fiber glass composite are molded to allow easy entry of the line and achieve optimal grip. The upper disc adjusts to the size of the line and thus allows different diameters of line. Teeth grip evenly with or without workload.
